What is an Asian story? When Kinsman Quarterly opened the Winds of Asia award in September 2024, we did not anticipate over 220 entries, each with its own unique answer to the question. Narrowing down those entries to the 35 we will include in the upcoming collection took some effort, but we are delighted with how these stories, essays, and poems have come together. With entries tackling cultures and histories from China, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, and Laos, the inaugural Winds of Asia anthology blows in with all

the scents and sensations of Earth’s largest continent.
